Dahaad is so masterfully written and directed, which is unusual because it's usually challenging to craft a decent serial killer thriller. I couldn't help but binge watch the entire season in one day. The novel also highlights a number of problems in our culture while narrating a horrifying tale of a psychopath, including gender prejudice, the caste system, societal pressure on females to be married, and of course, the Indian dowry system. However, none of these social themes were artfully integrated into the narrative or came off as propaganda. one of the greatest recent Hindi television programmes. Excellently written, edited, carried out, acted, and most importantly, cast. It's encouraging to see Sonakshi Sinha used to her full ability. Each actor plays each role with such skill and nuance. No adjectives can adequately describe Vijay Verma's performance because it is so good. There are moments when witnessing Vijay Verma's persona makes your skin crawl.

Series synopsis

Dahaad Storyline/Plot
Sub-Inspector Anjali Bhaati (Sonakshi Sinha) discovers a strange case in a tiny town in Rajasthan where twenty-seven (27) women have been going missing without a trace but the residents don't seem concerned. But all changes when Bhaati discovers a pattern linking all the killings, making her believe that a serial murderer may be at large. Her viewpoint on the investigation is drastically altered by this revelation, which causes her to turn her focus from mysterious disappearances to a carefully thought-out plot.
Anjali, who is in her thirties, defies the norms of the rural community she calls home in every way. Due to the exact same rationale, her mother finds it challenging to arrange for her marriage. Due to her caste, she also experiences discrimination from the whole hamlet. Despite this, she continues to be the tough officer that she is.
We observe the intertwining of fate between 2 parallel situations. One scheduled caste brother states that his sister has been absent for over a month. She left a message saying that she is getting married to the boy of her choosing, but her brother is really worried because she hasn't called even once. They used to be close.
In the second case, a Muslim guy and the daughter of a rather prominent villager fall in love across castes. With the assistance of her superior, Anjali assists a Muslim youngster in escaping while focusing on the other case.
She notices a pattern in the cases of females from scheduled castes who are older than 25, could not get married on time owing to poverty, were unable to provide dowry, and were emotionally frail. She follows the phones to see whether they belong to past victims. And this pattern enables them to comprehend that there were 27 such girls who died the very next day from cyanide poisoning after escaping with the individual.
Others assume there must be a group involved, but Anjali thinks there can only be one psychopath since he has never veered from his plan and has never made a mistake. She thinks that if it were a gang, at least the likelihood of mistakes would be higher, which hasn't happened in this case.
Anand Swarnakar is a college lecturer who is married to a lovely woman and has a son. On the weekends, he also instructs children who lack the means to attend school. Vandana, the wife of Anand, is an employee of a hotel and is having an extramarital relationship with Jai, another employee of the same.
Shiv, another brother of Anand, is a jeweller. One day, Kapish discovers a phone in his father's van that he was not permitted to use, and the phone links Anand to the police. His profile fits the information the police have received. Police interrogate him, but no evidence was discovered. Shiv was arrested soon after the evidence began to pile up in Shiv's favour. Shiv assisted the cops after realising it was Anand. After then, everyone discovers that it was Anand, and he leaves Rajasthan.
Anand succeeds in getting away, joining Mariam to establish a new family in Goa. There, he begins his pattern of serial murdering, but Anjali was able to catch him before he could commit another crime.
Anjali queries Anand on the overall goal of the situation in the conclusion. He said that a female who engages in conversation and flirtation with a stranger is not an innocent girl and should be punished as a result. He said that because Anjali was from a lower social level, he could see through her skin and that he was aware of how she regarded her employer.
Anjali changes her last name from Bhaati to Meghwal in the last scene.
